Coming Home for Fisher House Foundation
Starting during the 2014 season, the DC Thunder Women’s Baseball team and friends throughout the baseball community made a pledge to support Fisher House Foundation each time we came home – and we’ve continued that pledge in 2015. Every run we score means another donation to help a servicemember and their family. We are asking you to join us. Please consider making and/or securing a pledge – be it from your teammates, your friends, your family, you co-workers or classmates – for each run YOUR team scores. Whether the pledge is 10 cents or 10 dollars, make each run count for more than just another run on the scoreboard.
In baseball there is no better feeling than coming home, crossing the plate to the welcoming arms of your teammates and the cheers of your family and friends. Whether it’s a base hit, a sac fly or a suicide squeeze, we rely on our team to help bring us home. For injured servicemen and women coming home takes on even greater meaning as they face the long recovery process – having their families, their team, by their side to help them through makes all the difference. As Fisher House says, “A Family’s Love is Good Medicine.”
As a Four Star rated charity, you can be assured that your donations to Fisher House Foundation are going directly to their programs, supporting families in need.
